South African Special... Cape Town

I'd just like to mention that South Africa is beautiful and that although I've taken photos of traditional style dress, this is the exception rather than the rule, but you know how it is - when in foreign lands you tend to notice the differences more than the similarities.

These photos were taken of a group on pilgrimage to Robben Island [where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years), not only were they dressed spectacularly they were beautifully singing songs in homage to Mandela.

Babe this is phaat!! To use American street slang...bahhaaa...no really..I love the pop of colour, its so rich n vibrant..true true. I agree this is more an exception than the rule but one cannot venture for the first time into new territory without taking back a piece of local tradition & custom. Beautifully documented ZiZi!!
